    Original 1947 Jacksonville, Florida wanted poster issued for the capture of
    Don Stevens
    . Stevens was wanted for the murder of Richard "Smitty" Melvin and his father.
    Smitty
    Melvin
    was partners with
    Meyer Lansky, Joe Adonis, and Frank Costello
    in South Florida's most luxurious illegal casino, the Colonial Inn.  In the mid 1940's, Smitty left Miami and controlled the bolita gambling operations in Jacksonville Florida.  In 1947, Melvin lost a ,000 bet to Don Stevens and when he refused to pay, Stevens showed up to Smitty's house and killed him and his father.
    The poster measures 8 x 7.5 inches and
