    Description

This is an excellent quality silk dressing gown by Holliday & Brown of London.
Holliday & Brown was founded in 1926 and became known for their quality ties - by the 1960s, they had an international reputation and relocated to Savile Row.
They gained a reputation due to the use of quality materials and for the graphic pattern design prints used on their offerings.
This silk dressing gown features one of those graphic patterns, art deco in conception, in tones of light blue, red and white against a burgundy maroon background colour.
It has a shawl collar and applied pockets at the left chest and at either side.
    The sleeves have turned cuffs.
It has a matching sash belt and is unlined.
Due to the pattern and overall appearance, I believe that this silk dressing gown dates to the 1930s.
Label: Made in England Holliday & Brown Ltd. London
    Material: 100% Silk
Sizing: No size is indicated, but this silk dressing gown would fit a size large, please rely on the following measurements for fit:
    Shoulders:
20” / 51 cm across from shoulder seam to shoulder seam
    Sleeves:
25 1/2”/ 65 cm from the shoulder seam
    Sleeve Inseam:
    19 1/4” / 49 cm
Chest: 46 1/2” / 118 cm around, depending on overlap
    Waist: Meant to be cinched
Length: 52” / 132 cm, taken at the back from the neck seam
    Condition:
This silk dressing gown is in very good condition - I noticed a few very light brownish marks to the left front shoulder and maybe a small mark to the right side, but these are barely visible.
A dry cleaning probably would eliminate these.
Otherwise, there is no noted pronounced wear, tear, other stains or odours. This silk dressing gown was well cared for over the years and looks to have seen little use.
Beautiful quality silk dressing gown as you would expect from an established Mayfair London maker of the era!
