    Description

    Colonade of States, Federal Exhibit Building, Golden Gate International Exposition.
    Non postally used, black and white from Real Photo viewcard from 1939.
    Card in excellent condition.
    The Golden Gate International Exposition was held in San Francisco, California from February 18, 1939 to October 29, 1939.
    This unique structure which consisted of 48 columns, 105 feet high, was built from Douglas fir lumber.  It would withstand winds of 75 miles per hour velocity.  Each column represented 1 of 48 states that had buildings representing their states at this exposition.
