    Description

This is a 1939 First Edition of the Official Guide Book for the Golden Gate International Exposition in San Francisco. There is a beautiful full color map inside the front cover showing the Expo grounds on Treasure Island in SF Bay, cartograph by Ruth Taylor. There are color ads and pictures and lots of information in it's 116 pages. Pacific Gas and Electric or P. G. and E. had an exhibit in the Electricity and Communication Building and a postcard from that company is included in this auction. I don't know if they were sold or given away. It tells The Story of the West in very colorful artwork depicting covered wagons crossing the Sierra Mountains, a ship in a dock scene from early San Francisco and an artist's conception of the City of the Future. The guide book tells you everything you could want to know about San Francisco in 1939. Please see all photos, condition description and specifics above. Items sold as is. Shipping in the U.S. is .00. Please see my other items for sale/auction. I am happy to combine shipping. No international shipping. Thank you!
