    1937 Indiana Sheriffs Association Courtesy Card
    This card is signed by Carroll O. Holley, Lake County Indiana Sheriff in 1937.
    He is the nephew of Lillian Holley - the Sheriff who was in office when Dillinger escaped in 1934
    In January of 1934, Carroll O Holley, who was the Chief Deputy Sheriff at the time, transported Dillinger back from Arizona and placed him in the Lake County Indiana Jail, in Crown Point, to await trial for murder.  In March of 1934 Dillinger escaped.
    In 1936 Carroll O. Holley was elected Sheriff.
    Interesting piece of Lake County Indiana and Dillinger memorabilia.
    Card is 3-7/8" x 2-3/8"
    Some age yellowing and light staining around the edges.
