1930s Rare LOUIS ROUSSELET Made In France Baroque Faux Pearls & Carved Galalith Necklace. Marked "Made in France". This exceptional vintage pearl necklace by the incomparable Louis Rousselet features glass pearls in varied shapes and sizes. They are accented with Galalith beads. Louis Rousselet was regarded as the premier faux pearl maker in the first half of the 20th century.
A necklace of faux baroque pearls strung on fine metal wire, Galalith spacers with a chased barrel clasp typical of Louis Rousselets work. The pearls have a beautiful lustre and are in very good condition with no loss of nacre apart from some slight signs of wear at the very end of the beads where they meet. This is not at all noticeable except under very close inspection.
Length 16”. The largest bead measures just over ¾” long by ½” wide.
