TOMBSTONE COUNTY
The great days of Tombstone
began in 1879 when gold was
found nearby. Overnight it
became a boomtown of 7,000
inhabitants. Wyatt Earp came
from Dodge City to restore
law and order, and it was here
that Earp and Doc Holliday
put an end to the notorious
Clanton gang in a gun battle
at the O.K. Corral.
